I Have A Patch About The Size Of A Nickel

I have a patch about the size of a nickel on my jaw that looks like a bruise in color or a burn. I first noticed it and thought it was a bruise. Then the skin wiped off one day with neosporin on it and it was an open wound. It has healed over but is starting to itch again. Any ideas what this could be?
