I Have A Place On My Bottom Lip That Appears

I have a place on my bottom lip that appears to have skin missing and is very sore. I tried putting neosporin on it but that didn't help. Now I only use vasceline to keep it moist - lip balm or chap stick does not help. I have had this condition for 8 days now and it has stayed the same - not healing.
