I Have A Raised Bump In The Vein On My

I have a raised bump in the vein on my right thumb. It has been there for awhile. I asked the doctor about it when I had a check up and she told me our veins change as we get older. Well, yesterday I felt pain on the top of my thumb like it had been hit. The raised part of the vein is still intact however, now it is brusied along the entire outside part of the thumb. Last night, it affected my grip and today it is better, but still slightly painful. Not sure if it will go away. As I mentioned the bump in the vein is still there but now bruised along the entire thumb.
