I Have A Raspy Weak Voice, Mucus In The Back

I have a raspy weak voice, mucus in the back of throat, seems like a little silent heartburn, also feeling like i have something always in my throat, along with esophageal spasms. Dr. suggest different things. Tums, prilased and other over the counter meds for reflux. I've tried taking for 3 weeks and do not really feel any better. I've since been told it is not very good to take those meds any longer than 2 weeks. Any suggestions. Someone around me suggested maybe a hernia? I'm at my wits end. I've spent a lot of money on Dr. apts and tests and still feel and sound bad.
