I Have A Red Circle Of Red On My Stomach

I have a red circle of red on my stomach at the waist. IT has been there about two weeks, I think. I am not accustomed to look at my body. (It isn't very pretty.) Since I first noticed it, it seems to have grown a little bigger. It only itches occasionally. Maybe when I sweat more than usual? I really thought I had splashed some hot water on that area while cooking. Well, it is not going away. Should I see a doctor or wait a while to see if it dissipates?
