I Have A Red, Stinging Patch On My Left, Lower

I have a red, stinging patch on my left, lower eyelid. It's inflammed right now, and it seems to have started when I was sleep deprived and yawning intensely with the sort of yawns that cause tear production, I've never heard of tears causing blepharitis and I imagine that tears aren't actually the cause of the problem but from my subjective viewpoint, it SEEMS that there is a correlation.
