I Have A Reoccurring Muscle Spasm/twitching In My Left Pectoral

I have a reoccurring muscle spasm/twitching in my left pectoral area. Sometimes any force or exertion in that area can set off. About 5 years ago I picked up a piece of stone and felt a sharp strain. It took a month or 2 before it settled down. Could it be that I've did some long term damage to that area since that initial tear?
