I Have A Serious Smell In My Right Nostril That

I have a serious smell in my right nostril that has been there for weeks. Doctor said lay off the Afrin and prescribed amox/clav. It went away. Now i use Nasacort for my allergies especially congestion. The smell came back 3 weeks later. I hope its nothing internal. It reminds me of a smell from being shaken up in a car accident in 1993. Whats your educated opinion/suggestion?
