I Have A Sharp Pain In My Shin About 4

I have a sharp pain in my shin about 4 inches up from my ankle. The skin around it is red and tender. The tenderness seems mostly concentrated in my leg along the shin bone in a small area about 2 inches long. Sometimes it causes a sharp tingly pain and there is some swelling. The bone is very tender but surrounding tissue doesnt seem to be. I dont recall injuring it. When I walk the pain seems to go away, but comes back when I'm not active. It has been this way for a week or so. I dont have a history of shin splints. I'm on a remote work trip and wont be able to make to see a doctor until Friday at the ealiest.
