I Have A Small Round Lump Under The Skin At

I have a small round lump under the skin at the base of my pointer finger on the inside of my hand. Its about the size of a ball bearing and seems to be on the bone. Its very sore to the touch and I can hardly hold a pen now. I just noticed it about a day or two ago. What could it be ?
