I Have A Small Sore On My Ankle That Is

I have a small sore on my ankle that is healing slowly because of a blood clot in my lower leg. Keeping the sore covered has caused dermatitis on my foot and ankle area. What causes the skin to itch when I am running hot water over the foot and ankle the warmer the water the more intense the itch.
