I Have A Son In The Hospital In California, I

I have a son in the hospital in California, I am in Indiana. I just spoke to the dr and was told he is going into surgery for his gallbladder, and he also said there might be infection as the wall of his gallbladder is thick. Is that common with just gallstones?
