I Have A Spot On My Knuckle That Got Red

I have a spot on my knuckle that got red with a dark outer edge. The center peeled away and became scaly, with the dark ring remaining. I believe I had a minor abrasion there within a week prior to the symptoms. It does not itch, nor is it painful. Is this a fungal infection or something more sinister.
