I Have A Substance Which Has Been Described By An

I have a substance which has been described by an optometrist as "waxy" in my eye that is annoying. Sometimes, it is worse in my right eye, sometimes worse in my left eye and other times, both my eyes have the substance. It affects my vision to the point where everything is blurry even with my glasses on. I need to have an eye examine again, but I am afraid that the readings will be incorrect because I can't see well enough. Warm moist towels seem to help with this problems, but I can't do this all the time. Is there some medication/drops that can help me?
