I Have A Swollen Area At The Root Of A

I have a swollen area at the root of a back molar. I thought it was a salivatory gland block and actually was able to massage out a tiny piece of calcified matter. Now there's more swelling and redness and pain. I also have a sore throat that feels like the result of drainage. I'm thinking this is an abcess? Are there home remedies?
