I Have A Terrible Cough . I Get Absolutely No

I have a terrible cough . I get absolutely no sleep . I’m coughing up white stuff. Worse at night. Nurse said it’s not an infection because my lungs and bronical tubes sound normal and my mucus isn’t green. It been four days and nights. I’ve taken musinex and cough syrup and nothing is working. Any suggestions ??
