I Have A Titanium Rod In My Femur....I Have Osteoporosis

I have a titanium rod in my femur....I have osteoporosis and am allergic to the medicine for it. The bone is not healing as it should. The Dr. who put the rod in said it and the screws should stay.....I am home with another Dr. who want to take out the hip screws to see if it will stimulate the bone to grow, but no guarantees. What is the worst case scenario if I do nothing.
