I Have A Toenail Growing Underneath My Big Toenail For

I have a toenail growing underneath my big toenail for around three months. Is the new toenail going to push the old toenail until it falls off on its own. It does not hurt , but I am concerned. It will not look normal if I have two toenails. Should I go back to PODIATRIST so he can remove the toenail on top of the other toenail.
