I Have A Torn Tibialis Anterior Tendon That Is Proximally

I have a torn tibialis anterior tendon that is proximally retracted to the level of the anterior tibiotalar joint (the print on the report is not good). A small residual tendinous stump is noted at distal insertion at the medial aspect of medial cuneiform measures 1.4cm long. ..There is tendinosis and mild interstitial tearing ofinframalleolar peroneus longus tendon. Medial ankle tendons are intact.

This injury is several months old. It took 2 months to get an appointment with ortho surgeon (Nov 20). What I really want to know is, is surgery indicated? If I do nothing what is my prognosis for the next 20 yrs (I am 70 yrs old). I want to retire, but if surgery is needed I want to have it done under my current insurance coverage. Is this enough for you to give an opinion? ...Thank you
