I Have A Very Itchy Rash On My Left Arm

I have a very itchy rash on my left arm that appeared Monday night. I had a scedualled appointment with my rumatologist yesterday and she diagnosed it as shingles. It is itchy and painful at the same time. I take methotrexate weekly for RA. Does this sound reasonable?.
