I Have A Virus. It Started Off As A Cough

I have a virus. It started off as a cough the first day, then the second day it progressed into a sore throat with headaches and shakiness and coldness. I went to the doctor the same day and got tested for STREP but I do not have that, just a virus. I cough up very little mucus sometimes. However, my main concern is the fact there is always salvia, spit or I am just constantly drooling. I cannot swallow it because it makes me feel naseauted and it gets all stuck. I dont know what to do.
