I Have Absent Minded Seizures I Started Having Them After

I have absent minded seizures I started having them after I had a nervous breakdown 13 years ago. I am taking lamictol for bipolar and to reduce the seizures. But when I get stressed or really upset, I still have them. Are they stress related, because I was told they are. But I just read they can be genetic also
