I Have Affib ,not Continuous,it Started 3 Years Ago,it Would

I have affib ,not continuous,it started 3 years ago,it would happen maybe every 6 months or so,,got treated at the hospital with no procedures for stopping it,just waited it out in hospital for maybe 5 or 6 hrs.I have been put on Zeralto 15 mg.now for over a year.The matter I am concerned about is I have not had an incident with affib for over a yr now,I would like to stop taking this medication,as I am starting to have back pain,which I have never had that problem before..I am 78 yrs young.what is your opinion about this.I have asked my practioner and she said no I have to stay on it.. hoping for response..Doris
