I Have Always Had Visible Veins On The Right-hand Side

I have always had visible veins on the right-hand side of my face running up from my neck. At the weekend I noticed that one particular place the size of a finger tip right on this vein at the jawline was extremely painful (burning sensation) when I lightly touched it. There is no redness or visible swelling and I hardly notice it until I unintentionally rub it or touch it.
