I Have An "air" Pocket In My Wrist That I

I have an "air" pocket in my wrist that I have had for as long as I can remember. My mother has the same thing. You can not see it until you put pressure on the section opposite the thumb. It does not hurt at all, unless you "pop" it from what my mother tells me. What is this?
