I Have An Infection In My Index Finger Adjacent To

I have an infection in my index finger adjacent to the nail, I went to a clinic and expected that the physician I saw would lance it, clean the pus out of the area, bandage the area, and give me an antibiotic. She did not do this, but rather said 'I do not do that'. She only gave me an antibiotic, and I believe this falls short of the standard of the accepted standard of care for this situation. Am I right in this belief?
