I Have An Infection That Started Under A Scab From

I have an infection that started under a scab from an abrasion (fluids built up in elbow). Went to urgent care who gave me antibiotics but didn't lance it. Recommended I see an orthropedic (cant get appointment until Friday). Should it be lanced / drained?
