I Have An Inherited Birth Mark From My Great-grandmother On

I have an inherited birth mark from my great-grandmother on my neck the size of a quarter. When I was a kid it had white coarse hair. When I entered puberty the hair started to turn black and curly. I was wondering if the mole hair color change is something worth being checked? I haven't seen anything related to this on the internet.
