I Have Asthma For Years Treated By 5mg Prednisone Daily,

I have asthma for years treated by 5mg prednisone daily, ventolin & flixoride inhalers, uniphylline and accolate tablets. Lately I feel very out of breath and "heavy" lungs but no wheeziness (which is unusual if I am having an asthma attack). I am on crash course of prednisone 3 days in but they are not making any difference. My lungs feel like it's hard for me to get air in but actually that air is getting in, just feels more difficult than usual.
