I Have Been Advised To Have A Cystoscopy For A

I have been advised to have a cystoscopy for a bladder complained which is unresolved. Please can you tell me what happens during this procedure, whether it is done under GA and also I am worried that this procedure may make my symptoms worse ( pain in bladder area and at end of urination). Can I request it to be done under GA if that is not the usual way.
