I Have Been Diagnosed With Klippel-Feil Syndrome. I'm 54 Years

I have been diagnosed with Klippel-Feil syndrome. I'm 54 years old. I just read about this and it says ity's genetic. I had an accident years ago that smashed my C-3 onto my C-4 and they fused together. Could this diagnosis be because of what they see with these discs? Or can an injury cause Klippel-Feil too?
