I have been diagnosed with Post-Viral Gastroparesis after suffering a 2-week long bout with the flu (Influenza A). Gastric emptying test confirmed the diagnosis. My Gastroenterologist believes the gastroparesis will likely resolve over time. It has been 3-months now since I was afflicted. Can the vagus nerve self heal following damage caused by a virus?
