I Have Been Eating Bad For The Holidays And On

I have been eating bad for the holidays and on yesterday I was constipated and my feces was hard and I did some straining and did past some bright red blood which really scared me. I had another bile movement but no blood the second time. It was swollen around my anus area. Please let me know what could have caused the bleeding because this never happened before. I will be making an appointment with my doctor.
