I Have Been Experiencing Chest Pain On The Left Side

I have been experiencing chest pain on the left side on and off and also indigestion for a week or too. It hurts when I breathe and my heart feels like it's pumping loudly, my sleep is being disturbed by really bad dreams and hot sweats. I am 52 years old and am going through menopause. I have asthma and on inhaler for this. I am really worried in case it's my heart and should I visit my gp for a checkup.
