I Have Been Experiencing Dry Itchy Scalp With Tenderness And

I have been experiencing dry itchy scalp with tenderness and redness in areas. I have been to a dermotologist and so far nothing he has suggested helps. It is interferring with the quality of life in that at night when I lay my head on a pillow, the itching really starts up. I am taking Benedryl daily; it seems to help but it makes me sleepy. My scalp at times feels like it is lifting. I have changed my shampoos and conditioners as well as using the medicated shampoo the doctor prescribed along with a steroid that I apply at the area of itchiness.
