I Have Been Experiencing Fissures And Tears Of The Labia

I have been experiencing fissures and tears of the labia majors for several months. They can be caused by even slight movements because the skin seems to be incredibly thin and fragile. After one particularly bad fissure it appears to have scarred on the right side, causing a ridge, and tears now occur along the edges most frequently. They heal within several days but then more will occur. I am not currently sexually active. If anyone has any idea what might be causing this and if there is any way to strengthen the skin to avoid more tears I would appreciate it.
