I Have Been Experiencing Heart Beating In My Right Ear

I have been experiencing heart beating in my right ear for over 11 years. My doctor says not to worry about it and that it means nothing, however, now I can hear it in both ears and thought that I really need to see a different doctor. Is this something to be concerned about, our is it just an "age thing"? C.M.
