I Have Been Experiencing Neck Stiffness And Very Limited Movement

I have been experiencing neck stiffness and very limited movement of my neck for over two months - it came on quite quickly (24-36 hours) with no particular cause. The symptoms include tension around the neck at the rear and across the base of my skill as well as a a low level ache at a particular point in my skill (rear upper left). There is a constant sense of pressure around my neck and inner cranium as if wearing a shirt whose collar is too tight. There is a sense of pressure around both ear drums.
I have spoken to two doctors in my practice and a health board clinician who has indicated they will arrange for a check on my condition but there is a waiting time of at least 10 weeks before letters are sent out with an appointment. I am concerned about the delay and any risk of deterioration during that period.
The only medication I am taking at present is Omeprozole for reflux and codeine Phosphate for arthritic pains - both on low dosages.
