I Have Been Having A Sharp, Stabbing Pain Intermittently Under

I have been having a sharp, stabbing pain intermittently under my ribs between my side and my back, between my left lumbar and hypochondriac regions for about the last week. I have tried taking antacids and this doesn't seem to help. Do you know what may be causing this?
