I Have Been Having Coughing Fits For A While. It

I have been having coughing fits for a while. It happens as I am about to fall asleep. A tickling cough. It has caused me to gag and have some choking due to vomit. It had only been in my bed room though. I have spent the last two nights in a spare room. And the coughing subsides almost immediately and I am able to sleep. I am asthmatic.
