I Have Been Having Lower Back Pain On And Off

I have been having lower back pain on and off it's more on my left side and it the pain shoots down my left leg and stops at my knee.. I went to the E.R before and they said its my sciatic nerve (not sure if that's spelled correctly).. Also i have noticed recently my pee has turned a orange sometimes yellow and then sometimes dark orange. Could you tell me what is going on?
