I Have Been Having Shard Pains Around The Upper Part

I have been having shard pains around the upper part of my ribs. It hurt to lay down, breathe, swallow, it just always hurts. I went to the doctors office but I don't think they understood what I meant. They gave me something for the stomach flu and heart burn but they both aren't working. when I press down on where it hurts I can't breathe. What do you think I should do?
