I Have Been Having Spasms In My Lower Abdomen Area

I have been having spasms in my lower abdomen area the last few days which I have never experienced before. They don't hurt, they startle or sort of 'tickle'. I think its more internal maybe than muscle but not sure. They aren't constant. I am 66, female. I was just started on a baby aspirin and low dose statin (crestor) on Sept 16. Other than that I don't know of anything else that's different.
