I Have Been Having Very Sharp Pain In The Back

I have been having very sharp pain in the back of my neck. I have limited movement from turning my head side to side or up and down. I am thinking it is a pinched nerve but could it be something needing medical treatment rather than chiropractic? It is very dull and constant and now almost unbearable. Nothing is helping weather hot/cold, or ibreprophen or Tylenol. This is going on day three and only getting worse.
