I Have Been Just Told That I Need Vitamin B12

I have been just told that I need vitamin b12 shots I don't know my levels yet as I am waiting to talk to my doctor. My question is I just had proton radiation therapy 1 wk 10 treatments for DCIS Could this be the reason for low b12? I finished my treatment May 13th
