I Have Been Losing My Voice Every Time I Get

I have been losing my voice every time I get a head cold for about the last 4 times I have gotten sick (over about 2 years). I don't typically have much of a cough, just sore throat and stuffy nose, typically bacterial infection. I was contributing it to the fact that I sing a lot and would try to sing despite being sick, this time as I felt the cold coming on I stopped singing, but am starting to lose my voice anyway. I have not been coughing either. Why do I keep losing my voice? I am 22 years old and otherwise perfectly healthy.
