I Have Been Off And On Pain Medications Since My

I have been off and on pain medications since my disc was herniated during a PFO Closure in 2005. I'm almost 40 and have Degenerative Disc Disease and struggle with chronic pain. To be VERY clear, I am NOT an addict. I had a hysterectomy in 2008 and earlier this month I started lactating. I have a cyst on my pituitary gland that has remained unchanged. My prolactin levels are in the high but normal range. I read an article about long term opiate use and if I understood it correctly, it seems my long term opiate use may be the cause of my right breast lactating. Since reading that article, I have stopped taking pain medication and went through the withdrawal phase. There is no longer discharge from my breast.
Is this a coincidence? I try to stay as educated as possible about pain medication and it's effects but there are a lot of things I don't understand.
