I Have Been On A Statin Drug Lescol 20/day For

I have been on a statin drug Lescol 20/day for the last 10 years. My cholesterol was 250 and my LDL was a little high so I was told to start the above dose. My cholesterol levels recently went down considerably (less than 170) so I decided to stop the Lescol drug since I am a little scared of future side effects of statin drugs. However after stopping the drug for 4 months, my cholestoral went up to 250 again. I maintain a good diet and I do a brisk 50 min walk every day (6days/week). I really dont feel comfortable to start the statin drug again (because of reported side effects in media). Can I try Cholestoff by Naturemade? (I am 62 and otherwise in very very good physical health.)
