I Have Been Prescribed Cortisporin 1% Ointment For An Infection

I have been prescribed cortisporin 1% ointment for an infection in my eyes. The info sheet sheet says "Use on skin only. Keep out of your mouth, nose and eyes." I am leery of using this in my eyes. Also, it cost me $170.00. Is there something else that can work that is much less expensive?
