I Have Been Regularly Flying 1 Or Twice A Year

I have been regularly flying 1 or twice a year for the last 25 years. This summer I flew from Vancouver to Montreal once I got there I started my periods even if I wasn't due. Then 4 days later my ankles and legs swelled up so much I couldn't see the shape in my ankles. After 4 days I went to the doctor. She tested my blood for flebitis and kidney failure everything looked normal. Three weeks after I flew back and when I got home realized I was bleeding and that my ankles and legs were swollen. Are these two things related and should I be worried?
